Income member and co-chair of the firm’s entertainment practice, Brian Rosenblatt, participated in the Recording Academy’s seventh annual District Advocate day on August 12.
District Advocate Day is a forum for thousands of GRAMMY Members to engage in a series of meetings with elected congressional members to discuss pressing issues impacting the music industry.
The grassroots music advocacy movement serves to advocate creators’ rights, social justice reforms and important policy issues that affect the music community. This year’s movement also fought for COVID-19 relief and recovery assistance, as well as promoting the CARES Act, which provides critical support for the music community impacted by the pandemic.
Brian served as captain for Illinois’s 10th Congressional District and led six GRAMMY Members in a virtual meeting with Rep. Brad Schneider. He was also later part of a contingency that met with Senator Durbin. Nearly 2,000 music professionals participated in District Advocacy Day, part of the “Summer of Advocacy.” Some of the other District Advocate Day participants included GRAMMY winners and nominees John Legend, Offset and Brandy Clark, among others.
