Capital members Michael Milstein and Kirsten Kaiser Kus will present at the 2022 Annual Claims and Litigation Management Alliance’s Conference on March 24 & 25. The in-person conference will feature multiple sessions covering a variety of claims resolution topics.
Michael will join Todd Beresford of Cleveland Clinic and Amber Grambo of GuideOne Insurance in “Understanding Mental Health Claims in Workers’ Compensation.” The panel will provide an in-depth overview of essential workers’ compensation procedures and tips on the efficient, effective and successful handling of mental health claims. Select topics include requirements for a compensable injury, correctly identifying physical and mental impairments, strategies for conducting an effective investigation, common misconceptions when defending mental health claims and more.
Kirsten will join Gregory Hamlin of Berkley Industrial Comp and Claire Muselman of Emory Industrial Services in “Miscommunication Matters: How to Talk to Injured Workers.” In this session, panelists will provide attendees with practical strategies and techniques to effectively handle any barriers that occur through miscommunication when handling claims.
Kirsten will also be moderating the “DEI Workshop – Gender Equity in Law Firms: Female Leaders and Their Journey to Success” with Avery Barrett of On the Border and Rebekah Ratliff of JAMS ADR. The workshop will focus on the importance of listening, learning and driving measurable change to build diverse, inclusive and mentally healthy gender-equal workforces.
